The choice has been made. The most wanted rider of the peloton and Vélo d'Or winner Fabian Cancellara finds a new roof at the Schleck brothers, although it has been rumoured for some time now that the Swiss rider would make the move to the Luxembourg based team.

Fabian Cancellara started his career in 2001 at Mapei - Quick Step, to be picked up by Italian based Fassa Bortolo in 2003, mainly as part of the new Alessandro Petacchi sprint-train. He developed his skills further and especially his time trial abilities triggered Bjarne Riis. The switch to the formidably structured Team CSC seemed to be the only logical step in the Swiss' career.

After having ridden under Riis' umbrella for four years - and four World titles ITT later - it is time to move on. 2011 will be, besides the World's in Denmark, about setting a new goal: the Giro di Lombardia. With victories in Flanders and Roubaix in 2010 under his belt Cancellara already hinted at Lombardia as a possible new goal. The time-trial-machine from Bern will also play a major part in Andy Schleck's bid to win the 2011 Tour de France as the engine for the team in the team time trial.
