Pour sa première participation au Tour de Romandie, en 2011, Andrew Talansky avait décroché la 9ème place d’une épreuve remporté par Cadel Evans. L’an passé, il avait bataillé au général pour la victoire finale mais n’avait rien pu faire contre Bradley Wiggins dans le chrono’ de Crans Montana. A la veille de l’étape de montagne des Diablerets, Andrew Talansky est le plus proche des adversaires d’un autre coureur du Team Sky, Christopher Froome. Auteur d’un très bon prologue mardi dans le Val de Bagnes, le coureur de la Garmin-Sharp n’a que 6’’ de retard sur le Britannique d’origine Kenyane. Il aimerait profiter de la dynamique positive de son équipe. Mais il n’est pas sûr d’être à 100 %. Explications avec Cyclism’Actu.

If there’s any doubt that Andrew Talansky is on the road to being the USA’s next Grand Tour star, he dispelled them in the recent Paris-Nice where he gained his second podium finish in one of the world’s greatest stage races – following on from an excellent second place behind Bradley Wiggins in last year’s Tour of Romandie. We caught up with Andrew just after Paris-Nice to discuss his recent performances.

US Under 23 time trial champion Andrew Talansky has signed a three-year contract with Garmin-Transitions beginning in 2011. The Florida native will be taking part in the Giro della Valle d´Aosta, the Tour de l'Avenir and the U23 Worlds time trial and road race in Melbourne.
