Chris Newton returns to the Velodrome where he won his Olynpic Bronze medal when Great Britain send a small team of endurance riders to the Beijing World Track Cup next week. It will be Newton’s first major competition of 2009 and the start of a busy year both on the road and track.

After winning the World Points title in 2002, GB’s Chris Newton has consistently showed he is a contender for the Points race on his day and having won Olympic medals in the last two Games in Sydney and Athens, Chris is now embarking on his challenge to make the GB team for Beijing in 2008.

At the last Commonwealth Games, Chris Newton came away with two medals (Silver & Bronze). Chris now has his eyes on more medals, preferably Gold ones, at the 2006 Commonwealth Games.
