Der Australier William Walker, 2005 Vize-Weltmeister in der U23-Klasse, zählt zu den großen Talenten des Radsports. Das konnte der 23-Jährige in den letzten beiden Jahren im Rabobank-Trikot allerdings nur andeuten.

After winning the epic Melbourne to Warrnambool race in 2004, William Walker was quickly snapped up by Rabobank's Continental squad. The Australian gradually progressed and rode in the 2006 Vuelta a España, but his transition to the professional ranks hasn't been entirely plain sailing.

A motor on par with Armstrong but around fifteen kilos lighter, and a senior national champion well before his 21st birthday, if it wasn't a stuff-up with the rules. William Walker is all these things, and could one day become Australia's first Tour de France champion.
