Martin Velits, ciclista eslovaco del Omega Pharma y hermano gemelo de Peter, es un gregario muy valorado en las estructuras por las que pasa y con una gran trayectoria en amateurs, que se diluyó como profesional dónde no consiguió resultados de renombre. foto (Tim de Waele)— foto (Tim de Waele) Velits, pasó por el Wiesenhof, el Milram y el HTC antes recalar en la estructura de Lefevere, siempre al lado de su gemelo, aunque como él mismo diga, no es una condición correr juntos a la hora de firmar. Escueto, dejó algunos títulos para Ciclismo Internacional, entre los que destaca a Sagan y su hermano como los mejores corredores de su país, y se considera él mismo como un corredor de vueltas, más que un contra relojista, aunque su palmarés indique lo contrario.

The last time we spoke to Slovakian champion Martin Velits was during the Vuelta; since then, Martin and brother – ex-under 23 world champion – Peter, have moved from Milram to Columbia. We caught up with Martin at the recent (cold) Columbia camp on Mallorca.

Martin Velits is twin brother of former world under 23 road race Champion, Peter – both are milkmen for German dairy team Milram, but will be transferring over to Team Columbia for 2010. We caught up with the 24 year-old from Bratislava after stage 5 from Tarragona to Vinaros.
