Trent Wilson is an old friend of PEZ, we have interviewed him many times over the years as a rider when he was in the US and in Europe. Trent has now hung up his (race) wheels and has moved into the World of team management and cycling tours. It was time for a catch-up with the man from Sydney

It was February when we last spoke to Aussie pro, Trent Wilson. The credit crunch hadn't been invented back then and he was looking forward to a good season with Jittery Joe's - but being a pro isn't always "ice cream and fairies."

The path to ProTour enlightenment is a long one; some riders never reach the Nirvana of a UCI bond underwriting their wages, but tread a long and interesting path, nonetheless. Trent Wilson is one such disciple....

Australian Trent Wilson has spent the last two years in Europe with the Italian Selle Italia-Colombia squad, racing the Giro d'Italia twice. But Selle Italia didn't renew his contract for the 2006 season and so Wilson began looking at other options.
