In these times of ‘lockdown’ and ‘self isolation’ it’s hard to know what training to do. In his hunt for good advice, Ed Hood contacted ex-pro and coach, Dan Fleeman for some wise words.

He's been British National U23 Road Race Champion and twice British Hill Climb Champion; and now he's gone and won another national title - the British Cross Country Marathon Mountain Bike Championship.

Dan Fleeman the ex DFL, AN Post, Cervelo Test Team and Raleigh road professional originally came from the fat tyred, muddy world of mountain bikes, before moving across to the road and now he's completing the circle and moving back to the single track at the head of his new Forme Coaching - Pactimo - Cannondale team.

Team Raleigh’s British hill climb champion, Dan Fleeman received an unexpected call up for the tough six day Canadian stage race the Tour de Beauce - won by Realcyclist.com’s Spanish star Francisco Mancebo - here’s what Mr. Fleeman had to say about it.

Ex Cervelo rider, Dan Fleeman, now of the British Continental squad Raleigh, first came to prominence in 2004 with a win in the British Under 23 road race championships, little more than a year after a bad crash which left him with smashed knees and the prospect of never racing again.

As we move toward the Tour de France's start tomorrow in Rotterdam, we'll take one more moment to look back at the National Championships weekend that was. Seventh on the day in the UK and author of an excellent ride was Raleigh’s Dan Fleeman.

The Giro finishes but the Pro Tour marches on – to France and the Dauphine, to Switzerland and the Tour de Suisse. But around Europe and Scandinavia there are other races, good races with histories, which perhaps come under the shadow of the Pro Tour events. Take Norway’s Ringerike GP stage race....

Dan Fleeman texted me the other day to tell me that he'll be getting a bit of an airing on the Bike Pure site, due to his decision to continue with UCI Biological Passport level blood testing with Raleigh - at his own expense.

Last year at this time, life was ice cream and fairies for Dan Fleeman; he’d won the Tour of the Pyrenees; Cervelo Test Team had snapped him up and a start in a Grand Tour looked like a formality. But pro cycling is an unforgiving sport, and 2009 didn’t go according to the script.

Dan Fleeman left it late to take his first win of the year; but it took him just 3 minutes 18 seconds to convert late season road form to victory in the British Hill Climb Championship, on the 1100 metre Pea Royd Lane climb near Sheffield, England.

Cervelo’s Dan Fleeman first came to our attention when he won the 2008 Tour of the Pyrenees and we’ve kept in touch with the 26 year-old Englishman ever since. He’s back in action in the Tour of Britain and will be racing right through to Lombardia.

There are so many stories that make up every bike race. Each rider, each manager, each staff member - a story. We've been lucky to get a view inside Paris-Nice with Cervelo's Dan Fleeman. Fleeman's story has been a hard luck one, but that just makes it all the more interesting.

The Race To The Sun kicked off on Sunday in Amilly. Cervelo man Dan Fleeman will be taking us through the time test, the sprinter stages, the hills and mountains - all the way to jewel-like Nice and the Bay of Angels.

The Genting Highlands is the "Queen stage," of the Tour of Langkawi, finishing at the top of a 40km brute that is always central in deciding who takes the GC. We spoke to Dan Fleeman as he was lying on his hotel bed, recovering from just having ridden to 12th place on the monster.

The Vuelta may not have started yet, but over on the Emerald Isle, they're hard at it! Dan Fleeman of An Post - M Donnely - Grant Thornton - Sean Kelly, is our man in the bunch. Ed Hood had a talk with the young rider after 3 straight Cav wins and on the eve of one of the hardest stages.
