A pro since 2002, and a familiar figure in the US racing scene, BMC’s Jackson Stewart has been having a good start to the year, winning a stage at Redlands and helping his teammate Jeff Louder win the overall and then going over to Europe to race Paris-Roubaix.

Jackson Stewart has had a couple of tough days in the Tour de Georgia. Having been involved in a late day crash on stage two, and then suffering multiple punctures in stage three, he was still up for a quick talk about how things have been going for him so far.
"I knew I had to stop and they said I was hypothermic"

When the weather forecast called for rain, probably few believed that the weather would play such a painfully decisive roll in today’s stage. But the ride from Seaside to San Luis Obispo turned into a day of wet, cold and windy misery that few racers will forget quickly.

To his surprise and the pleasure of his team management, Jackson Stewart spent the first road stage of the 2008 Tour of California in an epic solo breakaway. As the race rode from Sausalito to Santa Rosa, Stewart found himself riding away from the pack without the company of any other racers.

On Februray 10, Jackson Stewart of the BMC Racing Team won the Cherry Pie Criterium in Napa, California, against an elite group of racers. Though he had had doubts about his form after the rigours of the Tour of Qatar, Jackson surprised even himself with his strong showing.
