Last summer Rebecca Romero became the first British woman, and second woman in history, to win medals in two different sports at the summer Olympic Games. Having gained a silver in the quad skulls in Athens, she switched from water to track and won gold in the 3km Individual Pursuit in the velodrome.

Rebecca Romero won Silver in Athens as part of the GB rowing team, now four years later she is going for Gold in the track cycling individual pursuit event. At this years World Championships in Manchester she won two Golds, which bodes well for Beijing.

Rebecca Romero is due to jet off to Australia for the start of her 2007/08 World Track Cup campaign with a goal of not just making the British team for the Beijing Olympics but also winning a medal there, a Gold medal of course!
