Racing with the Cervélo Test Team

Portuguese rider Joćo Correia became a pro earlier this season, after two years with the Bissell team in the US. It was a long-delayed return to racing after he first competed at a high level in 1995 and 1996, riding with the Portuguese Troiamariscos squad and then Europolis in Holland.

Joćo Correia first raced as a professional when he was 21 years old. After taking some time off for a career in the media industry, after dropping 60 pounds, he returned to pro cycling in 2008. This year will be his first on the Pro Tour team with Cervelo test team—at age 34.

Bissell Team rider Joćo Miguel da Silva Correia started racing at the age of six in his native Portugal. After moving to the United States at the age of eleven, he continued racing and went on to race professionally in Europe for Portuguese and Dutch teams. But in 1996, Correia stopped racing.
