If the current predicament that Bradley Wiggins finds himself in cannot be resolved – or even if it is – chances are he won’t be racing for Team Sky in 2015. That conclusion seems logical given that he’s been busy ‘auditioning’ for a spot in the Tour de France selection. Going on his recent comments, he believes he’s being overlooked despite his form as well as his past achievements.

C'était presque dans la poche depuis son écrasante victoire sur le contre-la-montre de mardi dernier. Sir Bradley Wiggins pouvait difficilement passer à côté de la victoire finale dans ce Tour of Britain. Hier, dimanche, au terme d'une course qui empruntait plusieurs fois un circuit au cœur de Londres, la Sky a tranquillement contrôlé la course pour assurer leur victoire finale. "Un vrai soulagement", pour Wiggo qui n'avait plus gagné une course par étape depuis plus d'un an et son triomphe sur le Tour de France 2012. Sir Bradley Wiggins admits there is little chance of him winning the Tour de France again, but believes Team Sky team-mate Chris Froome can win it five times.
The four-time Olympic champion won Le Tour in 2012 but missed the event this year due to injury and illness as Team Sky team-mate Chris Froome secured a second consecutive British victory.
Froome had been appointed team leader before Wiggins’ absence was confirmed so it was highly unlikely the 33-year-old would have had the opportunity to claim a second title and he now admits his Grand Tour ambitions are all but over.

Having played hide-and-seek for most of the season so far, Bradley Wiggins (Sky) is about to get down to serious business in Italy. Starting on Tuesday he will take part in the Giro del Trentino and from May 4 he will star in the Giro d’Italia as the race favourite.

Dice David López, el vizcaino que acaba de desembarcar en el Sky, que es su mentalidad la que le hace concevir el ciclismo de esa manera; el éxito como consecuencia del sacrificio, que no se plantea el deporte de otra manera que no sea la de vivir para la bicicleta y que está convencido de que la preparación, entendida desde el prisma de la entrega, tiene que ser necesariamente estajanovista, la vieja existencia dura del ciclista.

The ‘Eureka’ moment with Bradley Wiggins came in 2009, during le Tour de France. Martin and I were at the bottom of the climb to Verbier, watching the action on a beat up TV which the enterprising owner of a roast pig sandwich stall had set up. They were all there, including Contador and Lance. It was no sparring match or flurry of token attacks, this was ‘for real’ - but Wiggins wasn’t just hanging by a thread, he was in the mix...

Ça y est ! Il l’a fait ! Enfin Bradley Wiggins est assuré de remporter son premier Tour de France, en ayant dominé le dernier contre-la-montre de la tête et des épaules. A 32 ans, après avoir rapporté de nombreux titres mondiaux et olympiques sur piste, le Britannique du Team Sky parvient à remporter ce qu’il qualifie lui-même « d’ultime consécration ». Pour la première fois du Tour et de l’année son visage n’a pu dissimuler son émotion. Car les succès ont été nombreux cette année. Avec Paris-Nice en début de saison, le Tour de Romandie et le Critérium du Dauphiné, Wiggins avait déjà su inscrire de prestigieuses lignes à son palmarès sur route. Outre le succès de son poulain, c’est aussi le succès du Team Sky qui avait dénoter dès son arrivée, en 2010, dans le cyclisme avec ses méthodes et son objectif affirmé de faire monter un Britannique en jaune sur la plus haute marche du podium dans les cinq années à venir. Au bout de trois ans, le pari est donc réussi et même au-delà puisque la formation Britannique s’assure le doublé avec la deuxième place de Chris Froome. Toujours très prudent, Wiggins ne peut plus aujourd’hui se cacher derrière le risque de chute, qui l’avait tant inquiété ces derniers jours, et n’a plus le choix que de reconnaitre sa victoire assurée demain sur les Champs-Elysées. Samedi soir, avant de défiler sur les Champs, Bradley Wiggins, qui n'est pourtant jamais le dernier pour blaguer, avait du mal à réaliser.

C’était, au départ de Liège, le 30 juin, le grand favori dans la course au maillot jaune. Après un peu plus de deux semaines de course, Bradley Wiggins a répondu présent avec autorité. Rien ni personne n’est parvenu à inquiéter le leader du Team Sky. Avant d’attaquer le massif pyrénéen, annoncé décisif, le Britannique fait figure de solide leader et peu de monde croit encore à un retournement de situation. Alors qu’il ne reste plus que 5 jours de course, le leader du Team Sky peut-il encore voir son rêve s’envoler ? Pour lui, tout semble clair, rien ne semble l’inquiéter. A l’occasion de cette deuxième journée de repos, à Pau, Bradley Wiggins commente sa folle course vers la tunique jaune et les dernières échéances. Mais qui pourra l’arrêter ? Bradley Wiggins s’adjuge son deuxième Critérium du Dauphiné consécutif après une semaine de domination sans concession. Surtout, il accroche une troisième victoire de prestige cette année après Paris-Nice et le Tour de Romandie. Fort logiquement, pour beaucoup de monde, il est le favori principal du prochain Tour de France qui s’élancera de Liège dans trois semaines. Surtout que, de succès en succès, le Britannique semble murir. Il s’améliore sans cesse aussi bien dans la gestion physique que mentale de son statut de leader. Statut qu’il avait un peu de mal à assumer à ses débuts et qui semble aujourd’hui lui aller à ravir. Après Paris-Nice, le coureur de la formation Sky expliquait qu’il avait un plan pour le Tour de France, un plan qui incluait de gagner la « Course au Soleil », le Tour de Romandie et le Critérium du Dauphiné. Après sa victoire dans l’épreuve Suisse, Wiggins confiait l’important travail de coaching réalisé par son équipe. Alors après cette nouvelle victoire écrasante et un sans faute depuis le début de saison, le Britannique semble fin prêt pour la Grand Messe de Juillet.

Sans surprise, Bradley Wiggins s’est adjugé, ce dimanche, le 66e Tour de Romandie au terme du contre-la-montre final sur les hauteurs de Crans-Montana remporté sur le fil. Le leader du team Sky continue son sans faute, après son triomphe sur Paris-Nice, dans sa longue route vers le Tour de France. Le Britannique s’impose, à deux mois du Tour, comme l’homme à battre sur un parcours taillé sur mesure. France à un Andy Schleck et un Cadel Evans, plutôt discret, Bradley Wiggins ne cesse de nous impressionner. A l’occasion de cette nouvelle victoire, il révèle à Cyclism’Actu une autre phase de son « plan » en vu du Tour de France qu’il avait déjà évoqué au soir de sa victoire sur la « Course au Soleil ». Bradley Wiggins réussit la semaine parfaite en accrochant le 70e Paris-Nice à son palmarès. Il succède ainsi à son idole Tom Simpson, seul Britannique à avoir remporté la « Course au soleil ». C’est la deuxième grande victoire sur route pour l’ancien spécialiste de la poursuite après le Critérium du Dauphiné l’an passé. A 31 ans, Bradley Wiggins ne compte pas en rester là et compte bien toucher le « graal », le Tour de France. Fue la revelación de los últimos meses del año pasado tras su cuarto puesto del Tour y pasar al Sky tras romper su contrato con Garmin. Transmite en su entrevista que espera seguir la táctica del año pasado, en la que disputó la general tras ver en el Giro que pasaba bien la montaña.

Bradley Wiggins delivered a pressure-filled victory to claim the maglia rosa in Saturday’s time trial opener at the Giro d’Italia. After losing the final time trial stage in last year’s Giro in Rome, Wiggins raced in similar rainy conditions in Amsterdam, but this time he came out on top.
