His name on the start list for the Volta a la Comunitat Valenciana, so what better time to hear what he has to say about life on a Spanish team.

Chris Butler went from a novice Cat. 5 racer as a college student in 2007 to a WorldTour pro with BMC. Since then he has had solid rides with Champion System and Hincapie Development team, for 2015 he is joining Team SmartStop. We caught-up with Chris to get the lowdown on his past and future.

Team BMC’s Chris Butler – listed at 5-foot-11, 137 pounds – is a natural climber. But hills around his native South Carolina aren’t the only things he’s been scaling. The 22-year-old has ascended from a novice Cat. 5 racer as a college student in 2007 to a new pro with Team BMC this year.
