Whilst the media focuses on Sky, Cav, Brad and the Tour, there are some riders who ‘just get on with it’ in the real world of pro cycling - no agents, no four year contracts, no angst-ridden interviews, no tabloid articles, no book deals or no ‘recalibrations.’

Hamish Haynes is one of British cycling's 'forgotten men.' Whilst Cycling Weekly tells us about the successes of the U23 Academy riders in Italy - ex-British Elite Champion Hamish just gets on with the job, competing against some of the best riders in Belgium, week in and week out.

It takes a while, a decent Michelin map, and some luck to find Hamish Haynes' house. The tiny village where he lives is near the the town of Tienen in the Belgian province of Brabant.
