There are a few riders around who have competed for different counties in their time, but what about a dual World champion. Vladimir Putin signed an executive order to grant Shane Perkins Russian citizenship and the man from 'Down Under' became a 'Russian bear'.

Australian bad boy Shane Perkins, 23, shrugged off the controversy and the bad publicity he received after a rude hand gesture to officials after being disqualified from the keirin event by taking gold in the Commonwealth Games track sprint at the Indira Gandhi velodrome in Dehli.

Recently crowned Commonwealth Games sprint champion, Shane Perkins of Australia showed strong form of late, beating French sprint giants, world champion Gregory Bauge and world 200 metres record holder, Kevin Sireau to the title of 'Master of the Sprints' at the Six days of Grenoble.
