Hugh Carthy Q&A

Ciclismo Internacional, David Hunter, 8 April 2020
Posted by: Bitossi

As most of us are stuck indoors, I thought it would be the perfect chance for us to catch up with big Hugh.

«Este Giro fue un punto de inflexión en mi carrera»

Ciclismo Internacional, Ciclismo Internacional, 6 June 2019
Posted by: Tim Booth

I know how to fight

Cyclist, Cyclist, 26 April 2017
Posted by: Bitossi

The 22-year-old Briton, who on 5th may will begin his debut Giro d'Italia, deflects complements gracefully, even though his breakthrough season and swift promotion to World Tour team Cannondale-Drapac deserves nothing but praise.

Posted by: Bitossi

Ninth and Best Young Rider in Catalunya

VeloVeritas, Ed Hood, 3 April 2016
Posted by: Bitossi

Hugh Carthy first caught our eye when he won the Tour of Korea for Rapha Condor JLT in 2014 and impressed us even more when he dismissed the ‘soft option’ of racing as a UK based pro and signed for season 2015 with Spanish Pro Continental squad Caja Rural Seguros RGA, who he continues to ride for in 2016.

a Season of Ups and Downs with Caja Rural.

VeloVeritas, Ed Hood, 28 October 2015
Posted by: Bitossi

Here at VeloVeritas we rate 21 year-old Englishman Hugh Carthy; not for him a ride with a team where the lingua franca is his native tongue – no sir, Spain’s only Pro Continental team, Caja Rural is who he signed with after his excellent Tour of Korea win for Condor, last season.

Corredores a seguir en 2015- Hugh Carthy

Ciclismo Internacional, David Hunter, 25 December 2014
Posted by: Bitossi

Riders to Watch in 2015 – Hugh Carthy

Ciclismo Internacional, Pablo Martín Palermo, 25 December 2014
Posted by: Bitossi

It’s nice to come across a rider that breaks the mould. In British sport, it’s very unusual to come across young people who move into Europe, at an early age. There are very few footballers doing this and only a handful of cyclists.

Lines up with Txurruka at Caja Rural in 2015

VeloVeritas, Hugh Carthy, 21 November 2014
Posted by: Bitossi

If you’re my age then you’ll remember Basque climbing legend, Marino Lejarreta in the colours of Caja Rural back in the 80’s. The name has been associated with Spanish cycle sport off and on since then and season 2015 will see an English name alongside the likes of Amets Txurruka in Spain’s only Pro Continental team.

Rising British star Hugh Carthy savours Tour de Korea success.

Road Cycling UK, Colin Henrys, 19 June 2014
Posted by: Bitossi

Rapha Condor JLT's teenage ace celebrates 'biggest win' of his career. While the focus on the British charge for the Tour de France’s maillot jaune will soon be dominating the headlines, one rising star has already pulled on a yellow jersey this summer.
