Lucas Hamilton mightn’t yet be Australian road cycling’s biggest star, but he could well be on his way. After a breakout 2019 season, including a particularly impressive Giro d’Italia, Hamilton appears to be on an exciting trajectory.

An announcement from Orica-Scott today confirmed that 21-year-old Lucas Hamilton will join the Australian WorldTour outfit from 2018. Hamilton is the third rider from this year’s Mitchelton-Scott Continental development squad to sign with a WorldTour team, following Michael Storer and Jai Hindley who will both ride with Sunweb from 2018.

Je m’appelle Lucas Hamilton, et je suis un jeune coureur originaire d’une petite ville de campagne en Australie, nommée Ararat. Je cours actuellement pour la formation Mitchelton-Scott, ainsi que pour la sélection nationale australienne U23 lors les épreuves européennes. C’est d’ailleurs ma seconde saison en Europe.
