You could call it character building, others would say dream crushing, whichever way you look at it Simon Pellaud has been through the ringer. Back in 2015, he was a fresh faced 22-year-old, living the dream riding in the World Tour for IAM Cycling. That dream was only to last for two years as IAM Cycling ceased to be, and Simon was left looking for a team to continue his hopes of being a professional cyclist.

BMC won the final stage of the 2018 Tour de Suisse thanks to Stefan Küng. Wearer of the first leaders jersey after the American team had dominated the Team Time Trial on the first stage, the young Swiss was the only rider under 40 minutes in the closing Individual Time Trial in Bellinzona.

World champion Peter Sagan won the 2018 Paris-Roubaix, but the hero of the day was undoubtably Silvan Dillier. The Swiss rider was in the break of the day and was the only rider to go with Sagan through the Hell of the North to the Roubaix velodrome.
