Professionista nelle stagioni 2017 e 2018 con il team professional Androni Giocattoli Sidermec, squadra che si aggiudica per il secondo anno consecutivo la Ciclismo Cup, e premiato lo scorso 4 dicembre al "Giro d'Onore 2018", cerimonia tenutasi al City Life di Milano, con il Trofeo riservato al migliore under 25 della Ciclismo Cup, Ballerini ora guarda al futuro con la maglia del suo nuovo team, la world tour Astana, augurandoci che anch'egli rientri a far parte dei giovani corridori su cui il nostro ciclismo potrà contare per l'avvenire.
