Alberto Contador, que recibió el galardón que le acredita como el primer clasificado del ranking mundial 2009 de la UCI, hizo balance del año que termina y se mostró "ilusionado y motivado" de cara a la próxima campaña donde espera a un Lance Armstrong "más centrado, única y exclusivamente en ganar el Tour".
