Después de hacer un valiosísimo trabajo durante el Tour de Francia para que Óscar Pereiro lograra el segundo puesto (que después fue primero por el dopaje de Landis), el ciclista navarro del Caisse d'Epargne Illes Balears Xabier Zandio afronta su primera participación en la Vuelta a España con muchísimas ganas e ilusión.
