À 29 ans, Maxime Monfort fait presque figure d’ancien du peloton. L’ex-étudiant en journalisme en est à sa neuvième saison chez les pros, sa deuxième avec les frères Schleck qu’il va encore épauler avec l’abnégation qui lui est propre. Ce dévouement n’empêche pas le coureur de Radio Shack – Nissan d’afficher de réelles ambitions pour 2012. À commencer par un bon classement général sur la Course au soleil, qui s’élance ce dimanche, comme le Belge le confie à Velochrono.
