Garmin’s 20 year-old Aussie Lachlan Morton is one of the youngest riders on the Pro Tour but in the recent Tour of Utah he pulled off a massive result – winning Stage Three; successfully defending it on Stage Four where he finished tenth, before losing it on Stage Five and then helping team mate Tom Danielson to overall victory on Stage Six whilst picking up the overall Best Young Rider award along the way.
It was last year when Morton became yet another rider from the Antipodes to join the World Tour – moving up from Garmin’s Chipotle development team to join the Giro winner Ryder Hesjedal and the rest of the ‘A team’ at Garmin.
