Per un velocista chiudere la stagione con zero vittorie non è mai un buon segno. È invece quanto è accaduto quest'anno a Manuel Belletti che per rilanciarsi ha deciso di fare un passo indietro, lasciando il WorldTour e la Ag2r La Mondiale, con la quale ha militato nelle ultime due stagioni senza grandi acuti, e firmando per la Androni - Venezuela di Gianni Savio, con il quale era passato professionista.
