Llegará a la élite del WorldTour el próximo año de la mano del Movistar. Desde 2011 en equipos continentales, Caja Rural, SP Tableware, Efapel y Vorarlberg, el alavés no bajó los brazos y este 2016 subió un escalón con el CCC Sprandi Polkowice polaco. Su regularidad y dedicación han tenido su recompensa, según informa su agencia de representación. Sin victorias este año ha sido 3º en Croacia, 6º en Chequia y 11º en Suiza. Ocupa la 33ª plaza en el TOP Ciclo 21.
