Per lui il ciclismo è stata una scelta obbligata: Kevin Colleoni è un figlio d’arte e sua mamma Imelda Chiappa è stata la splendida azzurra che alle Olimpiadi di Atlanta nel 1996, conquistò l’argento alle spalle di Jeannie Longo. Fu sempre lei a salire sul terzo gradino del podio, nel Mondiale del 1987 nella cronometro a squadre.
