Morgan commence à pédaler alors qu'il a à peine cinq ans. C'est son père et son grand-père, eux même passionnés de cyclisme, qui l'initient. En minime, il signe une licence à l'Amicale Cycliste Bisontine et y reste fidèle jusqu'à sa signature au Chambéry Cyclisme Formation à la fin de la saison 2007.
