Tomaba la salida del Giro como líder del equipo junto a Koldo Fernández de Larrea con el objetivo de buscar un triunfo de etapa en una fuga. No ha tenido la fuerza y la suerte de colarse en una escapada que haya llegado al final, pero espera hacerlo en las etapas que quedan.
