Desde Suiza, donde adelanta sus entrenamientos, Botero reconoció su relación con Eufemiano Fuentes e Ignacio Labarta, médicos detenidos con bolsas de sangre y productos dopantes como esteroides y anabolizantes en su poder.
Sin embargo, el ciclista asegura que nunca ha dado positivo en un control al dopaje.
