Ellen Van Dijk
You just have to suffer on the bike to improve.

Podium Cafe, 3 April 2014
Ellen van Dijk was one of the most exciting riders of 2013, winning the Individual Time Trial World Championships after a stunning season where she won the Boels Rental Ladies Tour, Lotto Belisol Tour, the Energiewacht Tour and pretty much every ITT anywhere, and lit up the Spring Classics. Her World Champs gold adds to two in the Team Time Trial and winning the Scratch race at the 2008 Track World Championships, and she's been renowned for years for her ferocious attacks for herself and her team-mates. I spoke to her about all of this and more, including one of the biggest races on the women's calendar - the Ronde van Vlaanderen World Cup, coming up on Sunday.

Louis Verhelst
Cafe Roubaix,
1 April 2014

A Belgian who dreams of winning Paris-Roubaix.
Dwars door Vlaanderen, E3 Harelbeke, and Gent-Wevelgem were a preview to the cobbled Monuments and one of the riders who competed in the Belgian races was Louis Verhelst, the young cyclist of Cofidis. After a spell with Ettix-Ihned, the feeder team of Omega Pharma-Quick Step, Verhelst choose to star

Laura Trott
Total Womern Cycling,
31 March 2014

60 Seconds With Laura Trott.
We were lucky enough to grab 60 seconds with double Olympic champion and star of the Wiggle Honda team, Laura Trott. And we are delighted to report that aside from her ridiculous amount of talent, she is really just like the rest of us!

Johan Esteban Chaves Rubio
Cycling Inquisition,
31 March 2014

Patience, an emotional recovery, and the beauty of second chances.
My conversation with Esteban Chaves starts with a bit of small talk. I ask about his family, and the cycling academy that bears his name. But we end up talking about the weather. I mention how terrible the winter has been here, with insanely low temperatures and endless snow and ice. Esteban pauses

Martijn Verschoor
Pez Cyclingnews,
29 March 2014

Catching Up With Martijn Verschoor.
It’s March so it must be time to catch up with Novo Nordisk rider; Martijn Verschoor. Even this early in the season he has put three big events under his belt and we managed to grab him at his Spanish base for some words before he shot off to Mexico. Racing, crashes, sprints, travel and diabetes, Ma

Emma Johansson
Podium Cafe,
28 March 2014

Emma Johansson on the Trofeo Binda, Ronde van Vlaanderen and much more.
It's a huge week for women's cycling, with two Road World Cups in seven days - the Trofeo Alfredo Binda in Italy on 30th March, and the Ronde van Vlaanderen on 7th April. One rider who's bound to be making the races hard is ORICA-AIS' star rider, Emma Johansson. We asked her to tell us about the rac

Erick Rowsell
VeloVeritas,
27 March 2014

I do like to race a lot.
It’s been a while since we last spoke to young English rider Erick Rowsell (and yes, that’s his sister) - it was at the time when he was one of eight Endura riders (and just five Britons) to survive the inevitable cull which occurred when the team merged with German Pro Continental squad, Netapp for

Ben Swift
VeloVeritas,
26 March 2014

On the Milan-Sanremo Podium!
Kristoff was no surprise to us – especially with Paolini as his wingman; Cancellara – enough said. But the man on the third step of the podium was a big – and it must be said, pleasant – surprise, Sky’s Ben Swift, back from the wilderness. Last season was compromised by injury picked up in 201

Scott Thwaites
VeloVeritas,
21 March 2014

My 2014 goal is that elusive first Pro win.
The last time we spoke to NetApp-Endura’s Scott Thwaites was in the spring of 2013, just after he’d finished in fifth place in the Handzame Classic and seventh spot in le Samyn – both hard races in brutal conditions.

Nathan Van Hooydonck
Cycling Updates,
20 March 2014

Interview Nathan Van Hooydonck
Nathan Van Hooydonck is a big cycling talent from Belgium. He is a real winner and especially the races in Belgium suit his characteristics very well. In 2013 Nathan finished 2nd in Paris – Roubaix (juniors) and 4th in the Tour of Flanders (juniors). He proved his talent for the cobbled classics wit

Stephen Cummings
Cycling Weekly,
20 March 2014

Interview: Steve Cummings
Steve Cummings, the resilient and determined BMC strongman from the Wirral, will attest to that. Back in 2011, while riding with Sky, the former GB track world champion and Olympic medallist pulled off an impressive victory in the Volta ao Algarve only to contract bronchial pneumonia later in the se

Moreno Moser
Rouleur,
20 March 2014

Definitely, Maybe
"It's the problem of sport. In two days, you can become a star; in one, you can be nothing."

Oskar Svendsen
Cafe Roubaix,
18 March 2014

I can become a GC rider.
Five years ago, he was at the start of a mountain bike race called Birkebeinerrittet, and although that was just his first race, Oskar Svendsen finished in the top 15. Impressed by his potential, some friends suggested that it would be a good idea to try road cycling, and that’s just what the young

David Lines
VeloVeritas,
18 March 2014

A New Team for 2014: Starley Primal.
VeloVeritas has just about caught up with merry-go-round of new teams and transfers for 2014 – and one of the rotations we noticed is that former Scottish Criterium Champion, Davie Lines moves from the baby blue of MG Maxifuel Pro Cycling to the more aggressive red and black of Starley Primal Pro Cy

Oskar Svendsen
Cycling Updates,
16 March 2014

Interview Oskar Svendsen.
Oskar Svendsen is a 19 year old GC prospect from Norway. He showed he has great skills against the clock by becoming World Champion in the junior category in 2012. Last year he finished 5th in the GC ofTour de l’Avenir as a first year u23 rider. Besides his results on the road he also has unbelievab

Arnaud Demare
Pez Cyclingnews,
16 March 2014

PEZ Talk: Arnaud Démare.
Young, talented and in just his 3rd season as a pro, at 22 years old Arnaud Démare already has a palmares that many older pros envy. With wins at the Vatenfall Classics, Tour de Suisse, Qatar and more he’s a young man on the move. We recently caught up with Arnaud to talk about his career so far and

Robert Wardell
VeloVeritas,
15 March 2014

I just have to get stuck in!
Here at VeloVeritas we do like the off road world, we’ve owned our share of Muddy Foxes, Specialized Rock Hoppers and Kleins but there’s just so much else to talk and write about – the Scottish scene, the Flatlands, the road, interviews with pros, track, cyclocross, the Six Days...
