Nicholas Roche
All for Contador in the Tour de France.

VeloNation, 29 June 2013
He’s finished twelfth and fourteenth in the past and taken second and third on stages but, as the first stage of the Tour de France plays out on the rugged Corsican roads, Nicolas Roche has very different thoughts on his mind. Gone are ideas of personal ambition, of chasing results for himself; instead, an all for one mentality permeates, with Alberto Contador the undisputed chief. For some it’s a step back for Roche, a rider who has been knocking on the door of a top ten finish and stage win in the race. However in taking a long term view, both he and his father Stephen Roche, the 1987 Tour de France victors, believe that he will develop more as a rider through the opportunity now to study one of the biggest winners in the sport. Richie Porte: exclusive interview.
“No matter what happens here, I’ve still had a great season so far,” said Richie Porte a day after arriving in Corsica for the Grand Départ of his third Tour de France. He is the right-hand man of the race favourite Chris Froome. But he’s in a position on a dominant team that might see him vying for

PEZ Talk: Tom Schuler – From 7-11 To TOAD
As this piece goes to press, the Tour of America’s Dairyland is being battled out up in Wisconsin, with those United Healthcare boys running riot, as usual. But who’s the man behind what is now one of the USA’s best run and supported race series? If you’re of an age when you can remember those u

Working for Alberto Contador
On the Thursday before the 100th Tour de France, Saxo-Tinkoff held a press conference at the team hotel in Porto Vecchio. While Alberto Contador spoke in a room full of media, Rob Arnold and Michael Rogers sat outside and had a chat about how the Australian has prepared for the Tour, the differences

Jack Bauer
Cycling Central,

Tour start dream come true.
Eleven Australians will compete in this year's Tour de France, but New Zealander Jack Bauer will be only the 11th Kiwi ever to compete in the French Grand Tour. Bauer was confirmed as a starter in the Garmin-Sharp squad and will make his Tour debut alongside Australian team-mate Rohan Dennis.

Alberto Contador Velasco
The Independent,
25 June 2013

I can foil Chris Froome on Tour de France.
For the last six months, after almost every race he has taken part in, Chris Froome's status as Tour de France favourite has grown stronger and stronger. But, despite the euphoria at Team Sky following Sir Bradley Wiggins' breakthrough Tour victory for Britain last year and Froome's dominance since,

PEZ Talk: Tour of Korea Winner Mike Cuming
With a show of perfect tactics from the Rapha Condor-JLT team; young gun Mike Cuming won the Tour of Korea earlier in June. It was maybe a surprise to him, but looking at how the win came about it was a strong confirmation of a class rider on a well prepared team. Here is Mike’s take on Korea.

Shane Sutton
Velonation,
22 June 2013

It was the magnitude of the success that Bradley couldn’t deal with.
Having long been a guiding figure in Bradley Wiggins’ life, British Cycling coach Shane Sutton has said that he is ‘devastated’ that the rider has decided not to chase success in future Tours de France, but has emphasised the significance of what he has achieved in his career. Read more: http:/

PEZ Talk: Joe Dombrowski
Sometimes a rider comes along and right away you can just tell he has what it takes. We first caught sight of Joe Dombrowski at the Valle d’Aosta stage race, in 2011. Aosta, l’Avenir, the Baby Giro and the U23 Worlds are where the pro talent scouts do their window shopping. At the Copenhagen Wor

Ready for Le Tour
He raced his first Grand Tour in 2012, won a stage and took home the climbers’ prize jersey. Simon Clarke enjoyed success in the Vuelta a España last year and he knows it’ll be a different sort of race when he lines up for this debut in the Tour de France on 29 June 2013.

Hannah Barnes, pro-cyclist with MG Maxifuel
At the end of a tumultuous week, Hannah Barnes sounds cheerful and upbeat. Her voice comes clearly over the telephone line in a series of considered but honest answers to questions largely concerning a seven day period that has included as many highs and lows as an elite professional cyclist migh

PEZ Talk: David Veilleux
AS well as providing confirmation of Chris Froome’s position as Tour de France favourite, the 2013 Dauphine demonstrated that slowly but surely Europcar’s 25 year-old French Canadian David Veilleux is moving towards the highest levels of the sport. We spoke to him at the end of last season after he

Interview: Sharon Laws, recovering from that crash
One of the great things about the women’s peloton is the range of personalities and backgrounds the riders come to the sport with – Sharon Laws personifies this. After gaining an MSc in Conservation, and having worked for charities, the British Government, the United Nations and mining companies,

It was back in January when we spoke to ‘Philly’ organiser Dave Chauner about the demise of the coolest race on the US calendar. Bookwalter Brent
Pez Cyclingnews,
3 June 2013

PEZ Talk: BMC’s Brent Bookwalter
Some say that last is the worst spot to finish a race; but there’s also a school of thought which says second place is the worst. And some would say that the worst races to finish second in are National or World Championships; the winner gets to wear the champion’s jersey for a whole year – the runn
