Getting better everyday
Hubert Dupont might have the most common family name for a Frenchman but he has stood out as one of the key players of the 2011 Giro d’Italia. After finishing fourth at the top of the Grossglockner on Stage 13, he made a breakaway again on Stage 17 and moved up to 14th overall.

Still Racing, Still Winning
Estonian Jaan Kirsipuu is one of the most successful sprinters of the pro peloton. He won stages in the Tour de France and even wore the yellow jersey several days. The fact that he isn’t only a sprinter he proved in 2002 when he won Kuurne-Brussel-Kuurne after an impressive solo!

The only Japanese taking part in this year’s Giro d’Italia, one year after Yukiya Arashiro, is Fumiyuki Beppu with RadioShack. It means he won’t ride the Tour de France again but this could well be his first year doing two Grand Tours with the Vuelta a España being a possibility in August.

Riding High
Christophe Le Mével is third on GC at the Giro d’Italia behind Alberto Contador and Konstantin Sivtsov at almost the half way point of the race. He is leading Italian stars Vincenzo Nibali and Michele Scarponi and aims for a top ten finish, as he achieved at the 2009 Tour de France.
