A dream come true
The Giro d’Italia has a long tradition of local riders from low budget teams having their day of glory by beating the favourites on one stage. It happened to Oscar Gatto and the Farnese Vini-Neri team in Tropea on Saturday. We caught up with him at the start of stage 9 in Messina.

Angel Vicioso was disqualified from a stage win at the 2000 Giro d’Italia and had to wait for eleven years until getting the opportunity to for another victory. The Spaniard from Androni Giocattoli-C.I.P.I. finally got that victory in Rapallo at the end of Stage 3.

Still happily humble
