Now a Grand Tour contender
Nicolas Roche finished a superb seventh overall in the Vuelta a España, ending the race just 5 minutes 5 seconds behind the winner Vincenzo Nibali (Liquigas-Doimo). It was the highest Irish Grand Tour result since Sean Kelly was the outright victor in 1988.
