After taking a silver in the 2007 Worlds under-23 road race, Tasmanian Wesley Sulzberger, who rode for Cadel Evans at the Mendrisio world titles last year and took part in his first Tour de France for Francaise des Jeux in July, hopes for another Aussie victory in Geelong on Sunday.

Now a Grand Tour contender
Nicolas Roche finished a superb seventh overall in the Vuelta a España, ending the race just 5 minutes 5 seconds behind the winner Vincenzo Nibali (Liquigas-Doimo). It was the highest Irish Grand Tour result since Sean Kelly was the outright victor in 1988.
