"I was dreaming of victory!"
Garmin’s Monday was disastrous, but yesterday, whilst they didn’t win the stage, they won a lot of hearts and crucial TV time, thanks to an epic from their big Canadian ‘rouleur,’ Ryder Hesjedal. Tired or not, he still had time for a few words after his ride.

"it was pretty nice to stand up on the that podium"
Victoria native and cyclist Ryder Hesjedal climbed the podium after the third stage of the Tour de France on Tuesday. The 29-year-old finished fourth on the stage, moved into fourth on General Classification and won the Most Aggressive Rider award for the stage.

The Consolation Prize
In Tuesday's Stage 3 of the Tour, Ryder Hesjedal initiated a break 12km into the stage, and the select group of seven worked well together to stay away most of the day. Toward the end Hesjedal went it alone over several sections of cobblestones, finally being caught 5km from the finish.

Marco Pinotti won the Italian time trial title for a fifth time on Sunday, dominating the 37.3km race around Treviso in the northern Veneto region. His win came after taking an impressive ninth place overall in the Giro d'Italia in May.
