Getting back on top of things
Svein Tuft had a stellar 2008, finishing seventh at the Olympics in the time trial and then taking the silver medal in that same event at the World Championships. He then stepped up from the Continental Symmetric squad to the ProTour ranks with Garmin-Slipstream.

Stage one of the 100th Giro d'Italia saw Ben Swift help Katyusha take a solid sixth place in the team time trial; but stage two was even better, with only the two fastest men on the planet able to get to the line before the British youngster.

On Saturday, the Giro d’Italia will start with a 20.5km Team Time Trial in Lido di Venezia. Last year, the race started with a Team Time Trial and Illinois native Christian Vande Velde became the first American rider to wear the Maglia Rosa since Andy Hampstens epic ride over the Gavia Pass in 1988.
