Tom Stamsnijder werd net als Steven Kruijswijk pas deze week aan de Rabo-Giroploeg toegevoegd. Hij vervangt Koos Moerenhout. In de Ronde van Romandië, die zondag eindigde, wist Stamsnijder nog van niks. Drie dagen later zat hij al in het Girohotel van de ploeg.
