Cian Uijtdebroeks moest al snel lossen in de vierde etappe van de Vuelta. De Belg kwam in rit twee ten val, en liep daarbij een scheurtje in zijn enkel op. Hij bolde uiteindelijk in tranen als allerlaatste over de streep in Andorra.
