Tempo fa chiacchierando di pista, Silvio Martinello ci disse che secondo lui Ethan Hayter un giorno avrebbe potuto vincere anche un grande Giro. L’inglese aveva mostrato una superiorità abbastanza netta nell’omnium ai mondiali di Roubaix. La maglia iridata sembrava una naturale conseguenza del suo scendere sul parquet. E forse anche per questo quella frase tuonò ancora più forte.
