Earlier this month, Todd Wells used his blog to announce he will be retiring from professional cycling at the end of the 2017 calendar year. When Wells hangs up his cycling shoes for the last time, he will leave behind an impressive legacy as an off-road racer.

With his impressive World Cup results this year, Todd Wells grabbed the first of the United States’ two men’s spots for the Beijing Olympics. For the second-straight Games, the Durango, Colorado, resident is to represent his country on cross-country mountain bike racing’s biggest stage.

Two time US national cyclocross champion Todd Wells is off to Germany to compete in the MTB World Cup in Offenburg on Sunday. Todd represented the US ai the 2004 Athens olympics and has his sights firmly set on Beijing.
