Twenty-five days ago, in a bike race in the north of France, Mitch Docker slammed his face into the famous cobbles of the Forest of Arenberg. He broke teeth and cut up his face. He sat in a pool of blood while medical officers from Paris-Roubaix’s race entourage treated him. And the peloton rushed by.

For Mitch Docker, Paris-Roubaix has been a race where he has shown steady improvement, finishing an excellent 15th this year, just 47 seconds behind winner Johan Van Summeren. Docker took time out from recovering from his efforts over the pave to talk to VeloNation.

The overall victory in the Delta Tour Zeeland in The Netherlands went to Garmin fast man, Tyler Farrar, but the strong man from Washington State didn't have it all his own way; stage one saw a break through win for Skil's 23 year old Aussie, Mitchell Docker.
