Chi meglio di Paolo Bettini può commentare i prossimi, 70 giorni cruciali della stagione ciclistica 2016? Il 29 maggio si è concluso il Giro d'Italia con il trionfo di “Squalo” Nibali, il 26 giugno si disputerà il campionato italiano professionisti a Darfo Boario Terme, dal 2 al 24 luglio andrà in onda il Tour de France e, dulcis in fundo, sabato 6 agosto toccherà alla – si dice durissima – prova olimpica di Rio de Janeiro.

Piccolo e minuto, ma scattante ed imprendibile. Come un grillo. Ecco, Paolo Bettini si è conquistato quel nomignolo per il suo modo di correre. E, nonostante la taglia, si è tolto grandissime soddisfazioni.

Su presencia causa respeto entre todos los estamentos del mundo ciclista. Paolo Bettini (Cecina, 1974) conversó con MARCA en Dubái para analizar la salud del ciclismo italiano, bendecir a su posible sucesor, señalar los cambios que han ido apareciendo en su disciplina y comentar cómo está su relación con Fernando Alonso.

Paolo Bettini lascia la guida della Nazionale italiana di ciclismo. Non più commissario tecnico della Squadra, come l’hanno ribattezzata gli avversari per rispettare quella che — verrebbe voglia di dire da sempre — viene considerata la formazione più forte, più prestigiosa, la più carismatica e, spesso ma non sempre, la più compatta e solidale. “Il Grillo”, com’era chiamato per i suoi improvvisi scatti, molla il comando e torna in gruppo. È un pomeriggio toscano nel suo sole, obliquo, nei suoi profumi, invernali, nel suo spirito, quello malinconico ma profondamente cosciente ed estremamente umano, in cui si celebra il funerale di un uomo di ciclismo, toscano, innamorato di questo mondo: Stefano Benvenuti.

No falla. Paolo Bettini lleva ya cuatro años consecutivos llevándose una etapa en la Vuelta. Para él es una especie de talismán, porque en las dos últimas ocasiones terminó ganando también el Campeonato del Mundo.

De Italiaan Paolo Bettini kreeg in 2003 de allereerste Flandrien-trofee en is ook de uittredende laureaat van 2006. De ondertussen tweevoudige wereldkampioen uit Toscane staat ook nu weer hoog op het favorietenlijstje.

De kleine Italiaan werd aan de start van dit WK in Stuttgart bejubeld door de talrijk opgekomen tifosi. Met de glimlach ontving hij kushandjes, begroette hij oude bekenden en poseerde hij naast een gehandicapte supporter. Nu was het zijn beurt, na alle heisa van de voorbije week.

Tras vivir una semana de nervios, sin saber si podría disputar el Mundial, Paolo Bettini sacó su casta y logró ganar su segundo título consecutivo, algo que sólo habían logrado otros cuatro ciclistas, entre ellos Bugno.

Al Mondiale gli è sempre andata male. Eppure con il Mondiale ha un conto in sospeso. Ora basta, Bettini non può più aspettare e la nostra Nazionale, che l'ha eletto capitano, si aspetta che domenica il livornese salti sul gradino più alto del podio iridato.

Dat laatste zal wel het grote probleem zijn voor Paolo Bettini, geboren aanvaller. De tweevoudige winnaar gaat voor nummer drie. Al dan niet met de hulp van een ploeg die op de hellingen van Nederlands-Limburg en de Waalse Pijl geen vergelijking kon doorstaan met het blok van de Ronde van Vlaanderen.
