If Tom Dumoulin goes on to win this Giro d’Italia, he will owe much to his Sunweb teammates. On Wednesday’s 11th stage of the race they did important work limiting the gains of a dangerous breakaway, leading the peloton for many kilometres on the peaks and valleys towards Bagno di Romagna.

Since then he has made a full recovery and ridden two Grand Tours, a World championships and a clutch of other top races. But has the incident left more than physical scars? But The Netherlands is where 25 year-old Texan Chad Haga is bound for in 2014. A pro with Optum-Kelly since 2011, his first big results came in his neo pro year with a win in the prologue of the Mount Hood Classic and third on GC in the Tour of Elk Grove.
