Pasó de tocar el cielo, de tener el Tour de Francia ganado, a ser un proscrito. Michael Rasmussen, cuya descalificación permitió a Alberto Contador ganar su primer Tour, sigue queriendo ser ciclista a pesar de las trabas que le ponen continuamente.

Michael Rasmussen espera demostrar en 2010 que mantiene el nivel de antes de su sanción, aquel que le llevó a ser líder del Tour de Francia. Una sanción de dos años no ha podido con el danés y en el Tour de San Luis comienza una temporada en el Miche continental que espera sea la de su reivindicación.

Wielerronde van Pijnacker organizer Maarten Welling came under pressure for contracting Rasmussen for the race. Although Rasmussen is not suspended by the UCI, the Dutch cycling federation (KNWU) asked Welling not to let Rasmussen start.

Yellow jersey Michael Rasmussen did not start Stage 17 of the Tour de France Thursday morning. Rabobank withdrew the maillot jaune from the Tour de France and fired Rasmussen, who (they say) lied to them as to his true whereabouts when he missed his out of competition tests in June.

Come se non bastassero controlli mancati e accuse incalzanti, ci si mette anche la sua faccia. Diciamocelo: non è quella cui ispirarsi per fare il ritratto di un santo. E se invece, al di là anche della faccia, Michael Rasmussen fosse pulito, trasparente, insomma, usando una parola grossa, innocente?

Für Dänemark darf Michael Rasmussen nicht mehr starten - bei der Tour schon. Die Vorwürfe, er habe mehrfach gegen die Meldepflicht verstoßen, weist er im Interview zurück.

A Michael Rasmussen le llaman 'El Pollo' y si encima le visten de amarillo aún lo parece mucho más. El escalador danés es un líder sólido cuando la carretera se empina. Otro gallo le cantará cuando le toque correr la crono.

Maillot jaune à l'issue de l'étape de Tignes, le Danois Michael Rasmussen préfère ne pas s'emballer quant à ses chances de victoire finale. Le grimpeur de la Rabobank, conscient de ses limites dans les chronos, continue de viser avant tout un troisième maillot à pois consécutif.

Vrai spécialiste et dangereux récidiviste. Depuis le retrait de Richard Virenque, Michael Rasmussen est sans doute le meilleur pur grimpeur du circuit. Mulhouse en 2005, l'Alpe d'Huez en 2006, il a récidivé dimanche en triomphant à Tignes, théâtre de la première arrivée au sommet de ce Tour 2007.

Although his form has been a little less consistent this Tour than during the 2005 edition, Michael Rasmussen pressed the rewind button to great effect on Wednesday to dominate the second Alpine stage of this year’s Tour. Rasmussen went clear on the first climb of the day with two other riders, building up a large lead over the peloton and then taking maximum points on each of the day’s four mountains.
