Trent Lowe has probably been long forgotten in the pro cycling world. However, whenever I hear of more fall-out and see the inconsistency with the way riders and staff are treated, I can't help think of Trent Lowe who may have received the worst end of the stick. Last week Trent's name was briefly back in the spotlight with an apology issued by cyclingnews, and I had a chance to catch up with him and talk candidly about their apology, the recent doping admissions at his ex-teammates, and his views on the current state of cycling for young professionals.

After a season of highs and lows, young Australian mountain biker Trent Lowe will be riding the road in the colours of Discovery Channel for 2006. It's a huge opportunity for Lowe, who has been riding the NORBA series for Subaru-Gary Fisher in 2005, and he knows it. Cyclingnews' Les Clarke checked in with Lowe as he prepared for the MTB World Championships in Livigno, Italy to discuss this big development.
