Kiwi international James McCoy raced in the US and in Australia this year with PureBlack Racing, and finished strongly when he was named Most Aggressive rider in a criterium at the Tour of Gippsland, Australia in July.

"Having a season off at 34 wasn't a good option"
When Rock Racing failed to gain a UCI licence in 2010, Glen Chadwick went back to swinging a hammer in his hometown of Rockhampton, Australia. In 2011 he was back on the bike, this time with PureBlack Racing and was competing in many of the same US races he'd previously tackled.

Aucklander Louis Crosby was the last rider to sign-up to PureBlack Racing's U23 team but, with an expanded race schedule and a rider out with injury, the pro-team needed one more member to take to the USA. So in March Louis headed off for his first year on the international racing scene.

Pure Black Racing From The Inside
In July last year, Carl Williams announced Pure Black's launch with much fanfare. Pure Black Racing wanted to be the first New Zealand team at the Tour de France. One of the riders on the pro team is 26 year old Scott Lyttle from Carterton in the Wairarapa.
