Liège-Bastogne-Liège is the big finale of the Ardennes week and also one of the five monuments of pro cycling.
Joaquim "Purito" Rodríguez was looking forward excitedly to this event after crashing out of the Amstel Gold Race and the great win for Daniel Moreno at Flèche Wallonne. At Liège-Bastogne-Liège he once again demonstrated why he's one of the big boys in world cycling. After a sublime attack shortly before the finish he was just pipped at the post by Daniel Martin and secured second place along with valuable points towards the UCI world ranking. "Purito" now has his sights firmly set on first place in the world ranking!
