Today it was 19-year-old Luke Durbridge who fired up and got Team UniSA-Australia noticed. Before starting the race at King William Road in Unley, Durbridge said he was feeling good and ready to give it a real go. And he did just that.

He was part of a four-man breakaway that led the peloton for close to an impressive 100km of the race before being caught just a few kilometres from the finish at Stirling.

During that breakaway he took third place in the first sprint at McLaren Flat and then took first place in the King of the Mountain at Germantown Hill in Bridgewater. His efforts during the race earned him the day's Most Aggressive Rider jersey.
