Lo chiamano “Piccolo Principe” o ”Astore del Montello”. Sicuramente a Damiano Cunego calzerebbe bene anche il soprannome “Stupore del mondo” attribuito a Federico II di Svevia in epoca medievale. In effetti, sono pochi i ciclisti che hanno lasciato il segno così velocemente. Ancora meno sono stati quelli dotati della sua precocità e duttilità.
