Thomas Voeckler (Bouygues Telecom), premier vainqueur d'étape français du Tour de France 2009 mercredi à Perpignan, a avoué après l'arrivée n'avoir jamais cru que l'échappée de six hommes dans laquelle il s'était embarqué arriverait au bout victorieusement.

Thomas Voeckler a remporté la 5e étape du Tour de France en résistant en solo à un peloton lancé à pleine vitesse. Dans un numéro dont il a le secret, Thomas décroche la plus belle victoire de sa carrière. Les Bbox Bouygues Telecom décroche leur première victoire sur le Tour depuis 2006.

Op indrukwekkende wijze won Pieter Weening (foto) de derde etappe in de Ronde van Oostenrijk. Op de slotklim wist hij te demarreren en de Italiaan Bertagnolli dertig meter voor te blijven. Een verdiende winst voor de Raborenner, die dit jaar de nodige tegenslag kende.
